What if it rains or it is really hot?

When choosing an outdoor location setting, we are at the mercy of mother nature. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, and we have rain or extremely hot temperatures, we will call and reschedule. If that is not an option for you we can have the session at your home or in another available venue. We will work together to make sure that things work out to create the perfect portrait for you.

Where will we be photographed?

You know yourself best. More than likely, there’s a place that always brings out your unique personality. It could be your favorite park, or as simple as your living room or backyard. The key is to pick a location where you can be yourself.

Can we include our Furry Friends?

Absolutely! We love dogs/all creatures and know they are an important part of you.

How long will the session last?

Sessions usually take an hour. Some sessions like Newborn session can take up to 3 hours. We will discuss what your priorities are to ensure we start with those poses and work quickly and efficiently to keep everyone happy.

What happens after the session?

About a week after your session we will schedule an in-house meeting to select the images you want as digital files. As well as get the information for your Online Viewing Gallery. From the Gallery you will have the option to Purchase a wide selection of mementos and prints. You can place you order at this appointment, so please have wall measurements handy and gift list. Everyone that is part of the decision making process should be at this appointment.

When will my portraits be ready?

Digital Photographs will be ready typically within a weeks time. Most printing orders generally are ready within 6-8 weeks of your order being placed. This will vary slightly depending on the products you order.

What to Wear?

The goal of any fine arts portrait is to direct the viewer’s eye to the subject’s face. All other elements should be secondary. Not sure what to wear during your session? It’s a lot to consider-after all, these portraits will hang on the walls of your home forever. Here are a few tips to consider.

Be Timeless: Clothing can easily date your portrait. For that reason, we often suggest simple clothing with a timeless cut and style. Long-sleeves works best for most portraits, taking attention away from the arms and keeping it on the faces and expressions. Jeans can be timeless and casual. Darker clothing recedes in the image.

Coordinate: Portraits are an occasion to look your best. Try getting everyone to wear variations on the same color or similar style of clothing for a cohesive look. It looks great when everyone’s clothing works well together. The emphasis then becomes the relationships and faces of those in the portrait, not the clothing you are wearing.

Accessorize: Scarves, hots, bows, bow ties…they can add a little ‘fun’ to your timeless style. Accessories are also a great way to coordinate looks, and props can help express your unique personality.

Layering: Layers will not only provide more visual interest in your photos but they will also allow a lot more variety in your shots and poses. Layering also lets you easily and quickly vary your look: simply add a sweater, jacket or hat and you have an entirely different look.

Comfort Counts: Choose clothing you love to wear and that accentuates individual personality. Consider that you might be sitting or leaning in different poses. You want to wear something that you feel very comfortable in and that will cover any areas you do not want to show in the images.
